Community
At Potter Street Baptist Church we have a vision that is unfolding slowly. We want to be able to create a community centre in our area of Harlow. We aim to extend a very successful coffee morning both in providing meals for this group and opening it for more days in the week. We have plans to use the time that people would be in the building getting a hot meal, to see a debt counsellor, or a benefit advisor.
We want to provide a space for the youth of the area to come & go in the evenings and we want to provide a place for the homeless to come and where they too can get a hot meal and find a space for a couple of hours' relaxation in the evenings.
The first stages of this are complete.
The refurbished kitchen has been certified by Environmental Health for public use. The lunch club has started on alternate Thursdays.
The youth work has restarted with a new brand.
